I was told by several women with the vulvar

burning/itching that they take 1-2 tsp of baking soda -

orally - on days of bad flare-ups, or just before

intercourse.

Have any of you tried that and had luck?

Hi everyone,

I've tried the baking soda when my IC symptoms are flaring up and it really

seemed to help. In " You Don't have to live with Cystitis! " by Larrian Gillespie,

MD, one of the helpful things you can do for a bad bladder pain attack is to

take one teaspoon of baking soda in water, followed a few hours later by four

Tums or another form of calcium carbonate. I haven't tried it since I have been

diagnosed with V, but I myself would be a little cautious about it since I think

my symptoms may be yeast related, and the acid environment helps to keep the

yeast in check. But the acid also makes my bladder worse and also precedes a V

pain attack. Can I do my Aaaaargh! now? I think I just need to get my body in

balance.

Take Care,

McConkey
