Guest guest
Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid. And somebody in here posts there posts with a quote about following your heart. I hear these things, but oftentimes rather than get motivated, I go back to a few years back, I was living in Boulder Colorado, and I was going to put together a 'fairy gathering' people who are into fairies/nature spirits and the like. I went to something like that in WA state a few times, and had a great time. I mentioned this to a Boulder friend, and she said, 'oh , that sounds great. I'll help you with it.' I liked hearing that, and asked her when she wanted to do it. And she said something like, oh whenever you want to is fine with me. So I picked a Saturday morning, 9 am, a few weeks hence. I called her to let her know, but she was out of town. I got a bunch of flyers printed and posted around town, included my phone number and email address. Came up with some activities, looking forward to Boulder friend's input. But when she returned to town, she called me and said 'oh there's no way I could make it at 9am, I don't ever get out of bed til 11am'. I was really disappointed, but didn't want to change or cancel, figuring some people had already noted time and date and were planning on coming. Only heard from one person, a guy who asked me about it and assured me he'd be there. The morning of, I got there early, put up a big banner I'd made, put out activity materials, not sure if only a few would show up, or several dozen, or a hundred or more. It got closer to 9am, no one. 9 came, no one, 9:15, and I started getting bummed. I thought 'I'll wait til 9:30, then pack it up and go.' 9:30 came, and I, with a rather heavy heart, gathered up the stuff and left. Got a call later that day from the guy who'd assured me he'd be there. He calls and says 'what happened? i showed up but no one was there.' I said 'I waited til 9:30, but no one showed up, what time did you get there?' He said '9:30' Be bold, and might forces will come to your aid. Is that true? well, I think those inspiring sayings are just more sayings. what do you think? It sucked, that's my story. What if I threw a party and no one showed up? Well, I'd wait awhile, pack up, and leave. I guess the second part could be whatever I make it. It could be... .... and no one showed up? Well, I could try it again the next week. Or, I could stop believing in fairies. Or, I could write a post about it in LWI. Or.. I guess anything's possible. Have any of you ever threw a party and had no one show up? Please tell about it. Still believing in fairies/but not so much in people sometimes
