The only medical reason I can think of to justify a larger bed is

obesity. But you could try rationalizing that it is medically necessary

to roll prone for full pressure relief to the sacrum to decrease risk of

decubitus ulcer formation.

Otherwise you may be able to " trade " back the twin size to the equipment

vendor and receive credit toward the price of the full bed. The vendors

usually rent versus sell to medicare and depending on how long you have

had the twin, this may not be as challenging as you think.
