Guest guest
hello i was so surprised to see how many people wrote about drippy noses! dad has been like a faucet! i do have a question to see if anyone else has run into this. dad is ALWAYS trying to clear his throat and his voice comes out soprano much to his chagrin. the only thing that clears it is a coca-cola (has to be the name brand or he says it won't work). he has had the whole workup and they cannot find anything (whew!). but the voice thing..almost like phlegm but not really. thank you. i feel like i am asking a stupid question yet i feel i will find answers with you folks. thank you for taking time. sariana
Guest guest
Seriana, Let me assure you, there are no " stupid " questions here. We have all been on the Lewy ride. And some of us way before there was an diagnosis, " LBD. " I just came looking for some other dementia because Mom didn't seem like the other dementia patients she was in day care with. We were go grateful for Ann who started this whole thing in honor of her sister-in-law who had it. I came on shortly after. And now that was a long time ago! While the MDs still don't have much of a clue about what to do about it, we have a few who do know. And at least now the MDs are recognizing this isn't Alzheimers. We keep collecting info when and where we get it. Anything to make others trip easier. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. PND and other stuff hello i was so surprised to see how many people wrote about drippy noses! dad has been like a faucet! i do have a question to see if anyone else has run into this. dad is ALWAYS trying to clear his throat and his voice comes out soprano much to his chagrin. the only thing that clears it is a coca-cola (has to be the name brand or he says it won't work). he has had the whole workup and they cannot find anything (whew!). but the voice thing..almost like phlegm but not really. thank you. i feel like i am asking a stupid question yet i feel i will find answers with you folks. thank you for taking time. sariana
Guest guest
Sariana, I suspect that many of our LOs suffer post nasal drip down the back of the throat. It has been discussed here but no conclusions reached. Possibly your dad is experiencing that along with the runny nose. Absolutely no stupid questions here! I think LBD has subtle effects that we may not even be aware of being related to it. > > hello > i was so surprised to see how many people wrote about drippy noses! dad > has been like a faucet! > > i do have a question to see if anyone else has run into this. dad is > ALWAYS trying to clear his throat and his voice comes out soprano much > to his chagrin. the only thing that clears it is a coca-cola (has to be > the name brand or he says it won't work). he has had the whole workup > and they cannot find anything (whew!). but the voice thing..almost like > phlegm but not really. > > thank you. i feel like i am asking a stupid question yet i feel i will > find answers with you folks. thank you for taking time. sariana >
