Guest guest
First of all I'll give you my disclaimer, that I am not an attorney. For questions on your situation I would recommend seeing an attorney to lay out all the details of your specific case. I believe the POA will spell out in detail the rights of people on behalf of your lo. It is a legal document and enforceable by law. Many are " revocable " and can be changed by the author. The POA will likely trump any undocumented verbal agreements. The visit to Social Security may have more ramifications than you think. I recently visited Social Security to become a " responsible payee " for my mother who was recently diagnosed with LBD. I went through an interview process supported by legal documents (poa and guardianship). They approved my request which means that I can direct where my mothers social security check is deposited. Of course, there is strict reporting that a " responsible payee " must make on a routine basis to insure that your lo is being properly cared for with the funds provided by social security. In closing, I'd see an attorney for your legal questions prticularly if you feel that your lo could be hurt in this process. Mom diagosed w/ LBD in '07 ************** Planning your summer road trip?
