I'm new to the group and really appreciate all the comments. I have

had a severe cough for the last few years and was just diagnosed a

few weeks ago. At least now I know what I am fighting.

First my Dr. gave me factive for my infection and it did wonders,

but after about 4 days without coughing ( a new record) I could just

feel it coming back. Another dose of factive did not really have any

effect. The last med was levaquin and it seemed to help, but not as

well. I was wondering what med had given anyone has had the best

result. I know everyone is different.

My next question is, I was also given acetylcysteine to help bring

up the mucus. It is just nasty and I can't inhale it very long

without coughing. Has anyone else used this and with what result.
