Guest guest
Has anyone had a doctor change his font (smaller of course) and found the line count cut down so much that you aren't making any money doing it? Do you charge a higher line rate? I'm working for a company who informed me that a doctor changed the font and now I'm not making much money. It cut his number of pages down by about 25%. I don't want to tell them not to give me his account anymore, but is there another option? Do I ask for a higher line rate? Belinda
Guest guest
Another way to do it would be to calculate by character count rather than gross (visual) line count. Define a line in terms of characters... for example, perhaps 60 characters would equal a line... this ensures that everyone is billed equally. Some of my docs prefer 1½ " margins, and it doesn't seem fair for them to be charged more for that. On the other hand, a smaller font or narrower margin does *not* equal a smaller bill. Character count means an equal rate for all of your clients regardless of their format preferences. Guest guest
The company I work for has a standard font--New Courier 12. Many of the doctors I do, prefer something else. When I am ready to do my line count, I paste their document into a new file convert it to New Courier and then do the count. Perhaps you can tell them you are more than willing to accomodate any font the doctor prefers, however, as far as billing purposes go, everything will be counted in Courier 12 or whatever you are used to. in Iowa BNB Fabric http://www.netins.net/showcase/bnbfabric/index.html cweb@... > Has anyone had a doctor change his font (smaller of course) > and found the line count cut down so much that you aren't > making any money doing it?
