Guest guest
- I haven't seen pairs of Cedar Waxwings around here. Just one every now and then. We do have a pair of Doves though. And one Dove by itself. I guess the former owners had 2 pair of Doves and one lost it's mate. As of last fall it hadn't found another mate. Just starting to see and hear them again this spring. I haven't heard a loon. Saw pictures but that's the closest to hearing/seeing one before. Remember from England had taken many photo's of them? I wonder what types of birds you will see when you move. It will be a new nature adventure for you. We haven't shoveled the last 2 snowfalls either. Could have the last one but couldn't be bothered. Had a laugh myself over what you wrote about people " unpiling " the piled up snow. Nothing like double working the white stuff. Pile it up...flatten it down...pile it up...this could go on for a long time. LOL Take care! I can't see the loons on the lake here, our house is about 3 blocks from the lake but can hear them for about 2 weeks early April. However, we do see them at our cottage north of here. They're a favourite of mine. No bird can beat the variation and beauty in the cardinal's call though. I'll be leaving them all behind I guess when I move west in 3 weeks. Will just have to become familiar with the new species, like the stellar jay! Nope, did not shovel the last 2 snowfalls. They really didn't result in much accumulation. I laughed yesterday seeing people shovelling snow off the mounds they had created with shovelling, spreading snow onto their driveways to help with melting! Now that's make work! Laughing again at the memory. > > Carol, > > > > We had tall furry animals pushing snow blower here yesterday.
