Death from untreated advanced prostate cancer is often very painful. The

most common place for the cancer to metastasize in the bones. They can

become so fragile that they break easily. I heard a presentation once

by a man whose father died of untreated PCa. He said that when he

rolled over or moved you could hear his bones breaking. It was very

difficult for the audience to hear what he was saying. It was a painful

and horrible death.

We are fortunate that today we have multiple treatment options to chose

from. With a Gleason 8 or 9 you need to look at your options. They can

make a difference. There is hope. I also know men who were told to get

their affairs in order and with treatment are alive many years after

they heard that news. With treatment many of the bad side effects

including bone issues can be managed.

At may help you to read Young's journal. He was diagnosed with

advanced PCa and died several years ago. He wrote entries in his

journal until he was no longer able to.

For the man who feels his faith will sustain him. Will God help you if

you do not take the steps necessary to help yourself? The miracle may

be that God has given you the ability to be treated. To not take

advantage of the options that are out there seems like a slap in the

face to God. Just read a story about a man who prayed to God to save

him from a flood. There were many opportunities for him to save

himself. As he was drowning he asked God why he didn't save him. God

answered and told him of all the opportunities that he put there for

him but he had rejected each one. What happens if you reject the

opportunities that are there for you now? Will you be doing the same

thing?
