Guest guest
Secured Alzheimer's Unit........... As we researched facilites, each suggested that the 'unit' would be the most beneficial for Mom. I tried my best to prevent this but it seems Mom must have 24/7 supervision and security. Her apt. is at the end of the wing and there is an emergency door next to her apt. Twice she has been observed walking pass her apt. and trying to go down the stair case. The door is unlocked b/c it is a fire exit. I think there is yellow tape and two chairs against the door but Mom must try to go @ them. Her Exelon patch has been increased to 9.5 mg. She has been X- confused anyway, so this must have her 'over the edge.' When I speak with her, she makes NO sense, rambling about nothing. I have been home two weeks today and just now getting my own life together since the three and 1/2 month stay with her in Louisville. If she is moved, I may have to go back and help. Sister was with her yesterday but sometimes she is more of a nuisance b/c she is still in denial and does not accept the dx. I know in some DLB patients the decline is rapid once it begins the last stages. I just pray everyday for Mom since there is not much I can do 650 miles away. Whew..........what a roller coaster. Guest guest
Oh, Rob, I'm so sorry. Is there any way they can put an alarm on that door? They should have one anyway for security purposes.
