Guest guest
Dayle, I'm sorry I didn't respond to your sleep question and now I don't remember what it was. I've taken ambien for the last nine years. It has worked very well, but I think my brain has finally become used to it because it does't work as well now as it used to. So, I think I may try to come off of it now that my kids are a little older and more independent. I told this morning that I'm going to have to start staying up later at night and sleeping later in the morning. I have trouble falling asleep (wide awake when I lay down) and then when I do finally fall asleep, I can't get up in the morning. With the ambien, I do notice that it takes me longer to get going in the morning, so it probably has somewhat of a hangover effect. I haven't tried any of the other sleep meds, but the rheumatologist was wondering if that might be a good idea. I don't know. The more meds I can get off of, the better, in my opinion. I think they may be the root cause of my stomach trouble, which I'm still dealing with after 14 months. Of course, now they've prescribed lyrica for my fibro, so that's supposed to make you sleepy. I'll give it a try, but if the pain doesn't lessen, I'm not staying on it. It's an $80 copay, if you can believe that!!!! The ambien now comes in a generic and is a $30 copay, which beats the earlier name brand $60! The lyrica is brand new so there is no generic available, unfortunately.
