Guest guest
I've had problems with glare, especially at night, all of my life. I try not to drive at night when my depth perception seems less than it should be. And the lingering images........I thought all of those were normal! Learn something new everyday! Guest guest
I had no idea the extreme glare problem was from EDS! I too thought it was normal. I also have images that stay. For example looking at something brighter then to a darker area. It stays a long time in comparison to others, except the others in the family with EDS. guess that's why I thought it was normal, and the nonEDSers in the family were abnormal. lol anybody have a large number of 'floaters'? I've had this checked and followed by the ophthalmologist, and he said he's never seen anyone with this many. My sister also has this. She also has capillary bleeding inside her eyes-so far no big problems with it, but it's followed closely. The things I've learned on this list! We're all pretty normal sounding to each other! <G> > I have problems with glare, too, particularly at night. I had no idea> this could be related to the EDS. I thought these things were normal! Guest guest
Hi Connie. Thanks. Vision problems. Don't know the details, but I started having trouble reading my watch around the time I turned 43, I think. I had always been better than 20/20. That's just age. One thing your husband should watch for is hypertension-induce vision problems. My current neph insisted I see a opthalmologist when I first started seeing her, and I've been seeing one for an eye exam every couple of years since. They can easily tell by looking at the retina if there is any hypertension-related mottling back there. If so, it suggests control of hypertension is not optimal. IgA nephropathy itself does not affect vision. A person can also have blurred vision at the time blood pressure is particularly elevated, but it usually has to be pretty high. Guest guest
Well, that is on the high side if he was relaxing at the time. Nothing to panic about though. The BP at rest is the one that counts. It doesn't take much excitement to elevate BP to 150/110. Most of the time, high BP has no detectable symptoms at all, but sometimes it does. But a BP of 150/110 isn't really high enough to cause damage in the short term. They don't even look at you in Emergency unless it's 200/120 or thereabouts.
