Guest guest
I went to Mom and Dad's this evening...took some groceries over and fixed dinner for them...and when I walked in, Mom was singing Revelations. No, not a song...singing the scriptures. Kind of funny, really...but I have always wondered what other people's LO's focus on. Imogene...I know that Don has his gorillas...could he send them over to my Mom from time to time to get her out of the Bible? She gets it out, reads it, quotes it, sings it, but she gets NO COMFORT from it! She gets into the apostles' teachings about salvation and confession and all that, and she gets on a kick about everyone needing to confess all their sins, and worries that she won't be allowed in heaven since she married Dad after he had already been married...*sigh* She figures that makes her an adultress... I've tried to re-direct her to read the more beautiful parts of the Bible...the Psalms, Song of , even Proverbs...but she says no, that's the Old Testament and it doesn't have any meaning. The couple of days of lucidity and conversation and visiting I had with Mom didn't stretch into three. I wonder if that was a rally before another decline. She's definitely in a declining mode now. She is eating very little...focusing mostly on Ensure and cereal. Again, there's the sweets thing. You know, I was hoping that her faith would give her some peace at this time in her disease, but it's only created more fear and delusions. She now believes there are 7 gods, 3 of which are living in her stomach, and the other 4 are just meandering around their house. I took them tacos the other night, and she ate most of her taco platter. Then she got this look in her eyes...looked around and had a listening attitude. She turned to me and said, " Does God ever speak to you? " I told her he does, but not audibly...he directs me in the way I should go, he tells me right from wrong, he keeps me from making stupid mistakes. She said, " Well, he just told me I shouldn't have eaten those tacos. " I told her that wasn't God, that was one of those 3 living in her stomach. They must not like Tex-Mex. Life is. That's the best I can say about it right now. Jannis
Guest guest
It is so interesting, and heartbreaking, to see the different places that LBD takes its victims. At times it seems to take them to a peaceful place, at others it takes things that have been dear or comforting to them and perverts those things to be ugly and bad...even something like a taco! Thanks for sharing this, it has got be hard to see but I'm thankful you had those 2 days of lucidity and conversation with her . Guest guest
Jannis, I would send Don's twin Gorillas, they even have a name. and Orville but he is enjoying them too much. Sorry dear. Yesterday he saw three children in our car. he exclaimed, " They are tearing out the steering wheel. Honey don't you see them? " I told him, " All I can see is the head rest on our seats and a mirror. Would you like to check it out? " So he did. He came in and said, " They aren't there. It must have been a hallucination, but I could have sworn children were in our car. " So, Jannis, I will send you some children. Love a lot, and play in every area you can.
