Hi Sandie,

Have you tried taking yoghurt daily when on antibiotics?. I was on IV antibiotics recently and suffered a severe bout of diarrhoea and gastritis. The doctor told me to always take yoghurt when on antibiotics. I've never had any gastro problems with oral antibiotics, and I have had long stretches of ciproxin at times. I guess our poor stomachs and bowel can only take so much! Make sure you buy the yoghurt with cultures, and you can also get Yakult which is a probiotic drink.

Take care,

Love Bunny

Dear Bunny, I fully agree. There is an Activia (http://www.activia.com/) yogurt available here in Canada. It is said to contain several good kinds of bacteria that are digestive system requires. One of my former family doctors (he now works exclusively in the emergency room (ER) also recommended either eating yogurt or taking Acidophillus or doing both. Our hospital dietician is also big on sending up yogurt with all of my meals or as a snack.
