Guest guest
Hi All, I went to a new doctor today. Cortez in Marrero, Louisiana. (near New Orleans) My old doctor who is a GOOD vulvodynia doctor (Dr Hebert in Slidell. also near N.O.) is not on my insurance plan now so with my sister and mother raving about this doctor they have been going to I went to her. She said nothing about vulvodynia when I started talking about it and when I told her about the low oxalate treatment I was on she looked at me disgusted and said " This is not medication! " That was the end of her discussing my vulvodynia. I guess she didn't want to hear it was the only thing that had helped me? Needles to say I will be going back to my old doctor even if I have to pay out of my own pocket. She did order a few tests for me which I think are needed. A mamogram and blood work for hormones which I am sure I need. I have been noticing changes in them reciently and at 42 I think it's time to check them. I also am going to try some type of BC pill to stop my periods because my cycle effects my pain levels so much. She also wants me to have an ultra sound to check for uterine hyperplasia. I didn't know she suspected this condition or had ordered the test for me until I was talking to the receptionist as I was leaving!!! I have no idea what this is but I do suspect it to be no more than my 42 year old uterus that has had two HUGE pregnancies and is leaning over a bit. Can anyone here tell me what uterine hyperplasia is? I have no intention of returning to this doctor but I am going to have these tests made and bring the results to my old doctor. Thanks, Shirley.
