Guest guest
Hi Jena, I just read this and am gonna try to catch up on some emails to keep my mind off my step dads surgery tomorrow. I inow how you feel about drinking coffe and eating percs for breakfast. Thats what i have to do as soon as i wake is take my neurontin, percocets and drink my coffee. Most mornings i hurt so much i cant eat but then i get nautious so have to force toast down:( I dont understand one thing you wrote about your daughter. You had to beg for disability for her? and now that shes approved youhave to wait for funds cause theyre out? Is this SSD? And once thing i dont get is how you had to beg for funds for her...she should automaticly get disability or some type of assistance. You said she had downs syndrome? she should definately be able to get assistance and maybe a program like you said youd hoped for. Gosh I am SO sorry you had to fight for her. Nobody should have to fight for disability and its so sad. You are such a strong woman and i highly respect you. I know that it had to be hard but you are an amazing mom and knew there had to be times where it was a struggle. Please know you and your precious baby girl are in my thoughts! > > I know it is going to be that way when I apply that is one reason I > haven't already. My summer and fall was absolutely terrible. Guest guest
I didn't have any trouble getting Beth on disability once she turned 18. What I am working on now. This a thing called the Medicaid Wavier. IT is alot like applying for money for quote a " normal " person to go to college. It will pay for the company called Briggs and Assoc. to spend 30 hours a month with her. Basically get her out of the house. it is one of those hurry up and wait deals. I have had to hurry and get this info in. and then wait. Another sad thing is once our " Special Kids " graduate there is nothing out there for them. or they are far and few. We have a training center in my county but she will stay home with me before she goes there. it is so outdated and has not changed since she was in the infant stimulation program 21 years ago. Everyone told me I should at least go check it out. And so I did. It smelt like a nursing home. as they have a profound class. Not sure how they disposed of the diapers but it was good enough. Most of the kids that go there are single mothers that have to work. I really feel sorry for them having to leave their kids there. Not that I feel we are to good or anything like that. It is just a bad set-up and situation all the way around. I am not that strong. and yes in the beginning it was very hard. But she is such a blessing to the whole family I would not change her if I could. I am a mother hen. With her I don't have to worry about where she is at. Driving at 16. the wild boys and girls. She is right here with me and her daddy. It took my son turning 16 to really realize the blessing in Beth. I have shed as many if not more tears on my son than Beth. Seeing how my son married the Devil's daughter. Jena ~:~Jena~:~ My Home Page My E-mail Re: Social Security > > - Hi all, > > I'm struggling with this one too.
