Three cheers for your mom! She sounds like a remarkable woman - you sure have

a great role model. And she's fortunate you and your sister are there to support

her. Glad to hear the doctor escaped your bat by picking up the phone. And if

the NH is focused totally on dementia, they should be LBD-aware. Yes, the

struggles to care for our loved ones do continue. Please let us know how the

next step goes, and we'll certainly keep you all in our hearts and prayers.

My dad's doctor actually called my mom and myself yesterday(I didn't

have to wait in the parking lot with a bat..LOL). I really do think

this doctor has a working knowledge of LBD. He doesn't pretend to

know all the answers, but as I have said, he has done more for my

father than any other. So, my mom has peace now in knowing she has

done everything she could/can for dad.

Dad will probably have to continue his treatment with the nursing

home's staff doctor from here on out. I printed off a list of bad LBD

drugs and I will make sure mom emphasizes adhering to that with dad's

care providers.

My mom is vigilant with regards to making sure dad is in the best

shape he can be before they transfer. My mom doesn't care who she

pisses off to get what she wants. Thankfully she has been able to

coordinate dad's care, otherwise, that would fall to my sister and

myself. If I had to do it, I would. Otherwise, I just have to help

mom as much as I can.

We are now moving on to the next chapter. The journey is far from

over and the battles will have to continue to be fought. Thankfully

dad is at a home that strictly deals with Alzheimer's and dementia

patients.

Thanks again Lin. Mom is a handful like no other. I have joked

through all of this that dad's doctor needs to be giving her a script

for Zoloft. Not sure how much of that was a joke.

Dad will be transferred tomorrow. He wasn't doing well today. He was

combative and wouldn't talk to any of us.

I will still make sure the home gets the bad drug list, just to make

sure.
