General endotracheal???

ESTIMATED BLOOD LOSS: 300 cc

The patient was placed in the " frilight position " ,

....lithotomy position, or dorsal lithotomy position??

That's all I can guess at. Hope this helps.

I'm sure this is something quite simple, but for the life of me I

cannot think what they're going for here.

frogleg position comes to mind based on the sounds=like, though I'd

not expect to hear that here as much as I would lithotomy or dorsal

lithotomy.

What other positions can a patinet be placed in during an operative

procedure? Can anybody point any good resources in this regard?

I'm not sure where to point for you to go look on the internet. However, I do

know of some good books -- Operating Room Technique and 's Care of the

Patient in Surgery. Also, I'm currently an OR nurse. I can tell you a few

things about positioning. It sounds like this patient was put in a frog-legged

position to do the vag preg and to insert the foley catheter. Then her legs

were repositioned and she was placed supine. As far as other positions, here's

some:

Supine on fracture table

Prone

Prone on frame

Left or right lateral decubitus

Supine

Low lithotomy

High lithotomy

Semi-fowlers

Fowlers

and the list goes on...

So there's many different positions -- depending on the surgery.
