Guest guest
Hi, In list of meds. Effexor XL, s/l " Topradox or Topradoxin. " He is slurring so I am not sure about the last syllable. The pt has acne, fibromyalgia, and depression. TIA

Also, not sure that that's necessarily it, though it could be. Topamax is an anticonvulsant, so it may be correct if the patient has some kind of seizure disorder. (It's also now being used for headaches, I guess, in some cases.) The first thing that came to mind based on the sounds-like was Tobradex, which may not be it, either, unless the patient has need for ophthalmic medication. But then, I might have missed more info earlier in the thread ... this is the only message I managed to catch, so not sure if something's been snipped out that would narrow it down. >> In list of meds. It is Topamax. Of course, this was only a DV> suggestion, but I have seen Effexor and Topamax combinations DV> before. Thanks for pointing that out ) Yeah, I think there's a lack of info to go on here ... I know Topamax *can* also be used in bipolar disorder (though I'm not sure how commonly so) ... on the other hand, Tobradex can be used in the treatment of blepharitis (I'm too tired to double-check the spelling of that one), which is kind of an acne-like inflammation of the eyelid, isn't it? So, I think a case could be made either way, though you may be correct ... I've spent the last few months doing almost nothing but OB/GYN operative procedures, so I'm getting out of touch with many of the other specialties, I'm afraid, and relying upon my rapidly-decaying memory. Oh, well ... I'll sleep on it. :-) Chuck -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Chuck Mattsen mattsen@... http://www.mindspring.com/~mattsen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Random Thought/Quote for this Message: All people smile in the same language.
