Phil & GI doc

Phil & I went to his GI doctor yesterday. He said this is the best he's every

looked to him. They did the normal blood work and said at his last visit with

the internist they took tests for cancer either in the colon and liver and they

were both negative (that is a real worry for this doctor). He also said that if

he turned yellow again he would have to do another ERCP. He also is said that

they wouldn't transplant a liver if he was in the midst of an infection. He is

sending him to the tx team even though he thinks he's not even though his liver

is in good shape because of the 3 infections in such a short time. He says that

if he keeps getting them they would put him on the list. He also says he's way

to young for a transplant. (56 ?) I asked how old would a person have to be

before they would be denied a transplant because of age. He said about 65.

Then he says Phil probably has 10 years. That's confusing because that would

make him over 65. By the sound of most of your ages I don't think we fall into

the young catagory.

His main GI doctor is the ERCP specialist. One of the others in the group (the

one we like the least - - not personality or beside manner) is on the tx team at

Keiser Sunset or UCLA. Most of the transplants are done for Keiser in Alabama.

Keiser doesn't do their own transplants they pay to have UCLA or (not sure what

the group is called in Alabama.

So anyway some interesting and also confusing info. But the good news is that

Phil is holding up good under the mental stress and physical stress of

remodeling our new/old condo. Just a couple of more weeks and we'll be able

to relax in our new home. And the doctor isn't planning any trips in the near

future (every time he takes a trip Phil gets sick). So just pray for us that he

gets done in good health.

Sorry, I talk tooooo much.
