Welcome back to sitheil robert.stewart@... who

had his surgery on September 19 – Laparoscopic as I recall? No doubt he’ll

share his experiences with us in due course.

The two new members are:

Age 53

PSA level: Jan

2004: = 1.3

March 2005: = 3.5

Sept 2006:

Not too sure what you meant by that Bruce – perhaps the

September 2006 PSA level was cut off? Please post any question you might have –

and remember that when you’re learning there are no dumb questions.

therapy and radiotherapy. interested in watchful waiting

The important thing, , is to investigate all

your options and to understand what they are and what the consequences might be,

discuss them with a competent doctor and then go ahead with your choice.. There

is usually no great hurry to make a decision but it is important to keep

moving.

I am in the process of building a site that focuses on

the issues surrounding Watchful Waiting (WW) – or Active Surveillance

(AS) as it is preferably called these days by some and you c an read up some of

the preliminary work at http://www.prostatecancerwatchfulwaiting.co.za

There is also a page that is not yet linked to the site where some of the

normal criteria for AS are set out. You can access that at http://www.prostatecancerwatchfulwaiting.co.za/ASCriteria.htm

and also link to a number of studies. Finally it may be of interest for you to

read of others’experiences with this coice at http://www.yananow.net/Experiences.html#ww

All the best,

Diagnosed ‘96: Age 54: Stage T2b: PSA 7.2:

My site is at www.yananow.net

As a physician, I am painfully aware that

most of the decisions we make with regard to prostate cancer are made with

inadequate data: Dr

“Snuffy” Myers.
