Guest guest
Thank-you for the kind welcome. The details have yet to be worked out but my idea is a " Tattoo for a cure " fundraiser. The basic idea is to raise a certain amount of money and then I would get the new CMTA/STAR logo tattooed on myself. It may sound a little extreme but I have several tattoos already and like a tattoo this disease doesn't wash away. I have e-mailed the CMTA directly for their assistance so I am hoping to hear back from them soon. Once again thanks!!

Guest guest
Re tattooing for a cause. I saw a photo of a group of friends of a friends recently who, in support of a mutual friend with breast cancer shaved their heads and tattooed a rather large unique tree on their skulls. Extreme but for charity and support. Kind of cool! Nice to see others who think of interesting ways like this to raise awareness and funds! Guest guest
Thank-you Donna! I thought about it when I was at a CMTA conference in Palo Alto, CA. Here is a link that will explain the STAR program in a lot more detail then I can http://www.charcot-marie-tooth.org/STAR.php . In the most basic form it's a research program that's goal is to find a cure for CMT1A. Hopefully after finding that cure they will have a better understanding for curing all of the various CMT disorders. J
