Guest guest
Dawn: There are other ways of teaching a class. Use a motorized chair and a computer, notebook one for example. Then use a screen to show your notes. Use educational technology to teach. Its the new thing, all teachers and professors are using it now. This is the 2000 century. If money is a problem, don't worry, your state has a Bureau of Rehabiltiation office to pay individuals with disaiblities to go back to school. I hope the best for you. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, I am not sure I picked the right major... While lab work at college was a challenge, hard but fun, working in a lab daily after college was very difficult. After two years doing the same experiments, I just realized that I didn't want to do it anymore. I was tired (both physicially and mentally). Fortunatelly, the company where I work has a great environment and changing to computer work, mainly with research information, writing scientific papers of the company's research, translations and things like that, it has worked out well. If I could go back, I think would have chosen something else, maybe literature, which I like also. On the other hand, it feels good when you struggle and then achive what you want, when you don't take the easy way out. I don't know how severely affected you are by CMT, but I have always found it difficult to write on the chalkboard. In school we had to do maths assignments on the chalkboard sometimes, and my writing was barely legible. But nowdays, they use whiteboards in schools, and I could think of more aids for a teacher with CMT. For example using a computer+projector. That means the teacher could write on a computer and the kids could see it via the projector. We use this method for meetings where I work. My tip for everybody is: If you really want to do it, you can! But you have to want it... But then you can also use your education in other areas then teaching, I hope you are doing that already!
