Guest guest
Wow, I was surprised to see Windsor Star. That the city I grew up in. Nice to see some research going on there. I don't think they are well known for research. I too was a little surprised to see that CMT could be fatal although not really. I have always found it interesting when people call it the " peripheral nerve disease " . My opinion and it just my opinion. How can a disease like we have affect only the peripheral nerves. Never made any sense to me. Yes the hands and feet as impacted first, and to me this makes sense since I would assume they are the weakest muscles. Personally, CMT impacts all my muscles. I can feel it in my lungs, my stomach, my back, hands, arms, legs, feet, well you get the point. My daughter too, has breathing problems, among the rest. Don't get me wrong, I do think we are going to pass away tomorrow, but I do believe that CMT impacts way more then just my feet and hands. Well, that's my first thought of the day. Another thought coming in a few minutes. Matt (now, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) LOL
Guest guest
Hello Gretchen, We've come a long way! I wasn't sure I would hear that an article would say CMT could be fatal. It's sad, but at the same time now people can be aware and get help sooner. If only my sister could have been one of them! Now, hopefully others can get help and slow down the progression from the diaphragm deteriorating. Wow! I'm so glad I saw 's post. Gretchen a big thanks to you too! ;-) Kay
