Dear Gretchen,

As you know, I´m new at this group. So, I'm discovering how it works.

I was reading many articles you have copied to the files; they are very

interesting. One of most interesting article I have read is " Caring for

yourself " by Gretchen Glick. It is good for everyone, not only for CMT people. I

will translate it to Spanish and send to my son Pablo. I have some articles too,

and I will copy soon to the files.

We are from Argentina.

My son (and four daughters) are living at Buenos Aires. I'm living at Madrid,

Spain. (My english language isn´t very good but it's better than my son´s

english).

I have a chemistry degree and I understand many articles about CMT, but I don´t

see clearly the relation between CMT and this " paper " .¿Do you?

Hello Pedro,

I posted this abstract because it refers to DNA in Hereditary

Neurological disorders. There is so much research happening in

genetics, DNA and hereditary neurological syndromes, and I try to stay

on top of the news. No one really knows exactly what will completely

arrest the many types of CMT - there are so many researchers working

all over the world. A discovery from some unexpected research on

another disease, may in fact have a relationship to treatment and

arrestment of CMT.

Thank you for reading about " Caring for Yourself " . I completely forgot about

that article! I like to write and am now write for several neuromuscular sites.

However, I am academically trained as an artist! More recently I became a

non-Attorney representative/Advocate to help people with disabilities obtain

benefits. You might be interested in this from 2007.

I'm so happy to have you in our network. I was diagnosed early (1962) with

CMT, but as an adult, discovered it is a form of CMT 2 and of Recessive

inheritance. I live in Southern California, USA. If you have time, go to the

File folder " Funny Feet " . It is a 'book' I wrote to help teens with CMT. A bit

outdated now, but it does have more of my story in it.
