Guest guest
: Sounds like time for hand controls to maneuver your car. Marin
Guest guest
I went through the same problem last year. If you are looking for a single brace for both your knee and your ankle, the brace has to extend from your hip all the way to your ankle. Ugh. The good news is that the issue probably isn't weakness in your knee, but quadriceps (hamstring) weakness. At best any bracing you use causes muscle weakness that in the long run isn't in your best interest. I went through extensive physical therapy to build up my thigh muscles and the " knee weakness " and " knee instability " is gone. I would see a physiatrist or rehab specialist for a consultation. These doctors sole goal is to buff you up as much as much as possible so you can live the fullest life within your physical abilities. Physical therapy to build strength and deep water exercises to build stamina and flexibility worked wonders for me. Success won't be quick, but over time, you may not need any knee support. Another thought popped into my head -- maybe orthotics in your shoes may help and wearing the lightest possible shoes. Heavy shoes are very tiring because the weight of the shoe pivots at the end of weak 24+ inch lever making the shoe seem even heavier. Anyway, brace or bandage as a last resort. --Larry
