The classic foot type of Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 1A is pes cavovarus

with associated digital contractures. In this article, we describe a

painful pes planovalgus foot type in a 10-year-old child with

progressive Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 1A polyneuropathy. The authors

discuss possible etiologies and treatment options in this isolated

case. The value of gait analysis in preoperative planning and

postoperative surveillance are also discussed
