Fracine: Successful PT students are the ones who ask questions, problem solve

and seek information every where. You are already on that road. Participate in

optional labs or practice sessions; Maximize your study time. Read articles;

actively participate in class; do not hesitate to ask questions; there are no

dumb questions. Access the PTManager web site. Lots of good information there.

Next time include your email address in the message so that any one who wants to

answer privately has your correct address.

Good luck.

I will be starting PT school at Georgia State University in Atlanta in fall

1999 for a three-year, masters level PT program. It is a full-time program.

Can anyone provide advice as to: (1) How to maximize your PT educational

experience? and (2) Factors that successful PT students seem to have in

common? I already plan to join the student section of APTA.

As background, I am pursuing PT as a second career at age 37. I have an

undergraduate degree in journalism, and have spent the last two years taking

the necessary pre-requisite courses and volunteering in an inpatient hospital

PT setting and an outpatient setting.

Thank you for your input.

I have a practice in Atlanta. Despite what you might hear, things are not

as bad as they sound. Things will even be better when you graduate,

especially if you are willing to work in a rural setting.
