Guest guest
I must comment. The statement of the city attorney for ee is probably not correct. He states that testing did not show harmful molds. What tests were performed? If only air sampling was done, then the tests are not representative of the inteiror of the City Hall. Testing must include: air (in door and outdoor); bulk, wipe, carpet dust, HVAC ducts, and wall cavitities at a minimum. The bulk and carpet dust should be subjected to an ERMI test (Mold species by PCR DNA). The microbial cultures should also include gram negative and positive bacteria. The Actinobacteria (Strpetomyces, Nocardia and Mycobacterium) as well as gram negative bacteria are also potentially dangerous. Finally, one should also test for the presence of mycotoxins in the bulk and carpet dust. I have also found mycotoxins and mold in filters of HVAC systems and portable room air purifiers demonstrating a high probablility of air contamination (See Brasel's papers on this subject). A CIH who only performs air monitoring for spores is not doing his/her job in my professional opinion. Jack D.
