Guest guest
I keep copies of above book, I have a 3 page summary of book and I have outlined my condition with the stages in book. When I walk into a health professional I hand them a copy of book. I summarize my concerns with specific examples and ask for help. The help that is offered is compared to the help or course that is outlined in book and a collaberative process is started. I find most professionals appreciate the added info of the book and my personal knowledge of my body and the book as it applies to CMT condition. A greater level of confidence from me and the professional is began. Not everything that I try works but the majority has!!!! I have certain pages high lighted that are personal to me. This really helps to forge a new direction with therapy or to revisit a therapy that has not worked and may work now. The most consistent complaint with CMT is ..... Some one help me... Who can help .... who is a CMT expert? The most wide spread information about CMT is DNA and gene stuff that is all great but it will not help any of us today or next year. Rehabilitation Management of CMT " by Dr. Paolo Vinci is the best " coordination of care " I can come up with. Since using this book and with Prolotherapy (not metioned in book) and AFOs (mentioned in book for a foot drop angle greater than 105 degree) my life has turned around from inactivity and possible disability to an activity level close to my peers. I still have a ways to go but gosh ..... life is a whole lot better! Thank you Gretchen for sharing Dr Paolo Vinci with us here in USA.
