Guest guest
Hi! My name is and , our son born July 18, was diagnosed with mosaicDS. We are in the Northern Virginia area. We did not know that there was anything abnormal with until he was born.He is eating like a champ and growing well. So far he he doesn't appear to have any physical problems and we are starting to learn as much as we can about his condition so that we can do the best we can for him. He is super snuggly and has a very nice mop of blonde wavy hair on top:) My husband, , and I have another daughter who is 2 yrs old named Kendall. She is very excited to have a little brother and every day she comes home from daycare and says " I hold him Mommy! " . So, we are taking things in stride and it is nice to have a group like t his to ask questions to. We have found that there are so many groups dedicated to this cause out there and so many people willing to offer support and guidance. I have noticed that he makes alot of funny breathing noises which has me a little concerned about sleep apnea or breathing disorders. Is there anyting I should be looking for specifically? I am trying not to be overly concerned about every little thing:) Also, are there pediatricians that specialize with Down Syndrome children? If so, where would i look tot get that information for my area? Thanks and nice to meet you all! To: mosaicds From: the4hellards@... Date: Wed, 4 Aug 2010 05:50:50 -0700 Subject: Welcome New Family! Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome. This is an awesome group and I hope that you find great support with us. I know I have. My son is only 6 mos old and many posts come from parents with older children so I am definitely taking notes as to what may come up as my son grows. You mention that you've noticed some 'funny breathing noises' as sleeps. My son was born with an AV Canal defect and was born in respiratory distress due to the defect. Don't want to scare you but did they check his heart? I know not all children born with DS or MDS have heart issues but just from experience I think of heart issues when a child's breathing is questioned as my son suffered heart failure which caused his breathing to be questioned. My children as well have really opened up to their baby brother. Its such a joy when they want to help and hold him and so amazing that they hear Downs Syndrome and it doesn't phase them at all. Welcome again and looking forward to hearing more about . Aisha -mother to Tre' 12, Avari 7 and Zedekiah 6 mos DS Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Welcome New Family! Hi everyone! Guest guest
Welcome, Roslynn! I am a special education teacher who joined this group several years ago to learn more about MDS, so I could better teach my student with MDS. She graduated and I stayed in the group! :-) ________________________________ From: MosaicDS [MosaicDS ] on behalf of Hellard [brandy@...] Sent: Friday, August 03, 2012 4:44 PM To: imdsa Subject: Welcome new family!
