Guest guest
Andy, My advice to you is that you get custom made braces. You could be doing yourself harm by wearing ones that were not made specially for you. I doubt if a shoe insert is going to solve your problem. Guest guest
Hi , My first approach was to get custom made braces like I had for many years however no one was successful in making it. When they cast me on my natural foot position it makes it so I can't even stand without falling. I had 4 braces made and all were unsuccesful. The only thing that actually worked was what I have now which is the blue rocker prefabricated ones. It helps me actually walk straight however the only problem is the heel walking but I hope there is something that can be done to make the adjustment. Guest guest
Andy, Sounds like you need better braces. You need some that were made for your legs and your feet. You will get much better results with braces made for yourself than the off the shelf ones. They can build in whatever modifacations you need. They newer ones are carbon fiber and graphite which makes them much thinner and stronger. Talk to your dr and your orthotist. Bob
Guest guest
Hi Bob, Thanks for ur advice. I had up until recently custom made AFOs that I wore about 10 years and they were good at the time but I had 4 pairs made and none I could even stand in. The orthotists were not able to make me ones so my only alternative was to get fabricated ones which work better then the custom ones with the small problem with my heel strike problem. From what I hear so far there isn't going to be a custom shoe or shoe orthotic that will help with that. I am seeing a podiatrist tonight and will see what they say. Thanks Andy
