Guest guest
Hate to say it, but that is exactly what happens to me, the left eye is where it always gets started. We found Mycotoxins are impossible to get out of clothing, we threw it all away-when i am around anything at all that came from the " moldy " house, the sensation is immediate and unmistakeable. If you are getting those reactions, throw them away-its not worth cross contaminating!! Good Luck, . Clorox combined with bad hot water, hydrogen sulfide ruin a lot of my all cotton clothing. Well, all of it. Some is still hanging in the closet. I avoid them. Hmm... Many organic cotton fabrics have explicit warnings on the washing instructions to never use a chlorine based bleach. Apparently, it sticks in the cotton fiber and threads. Does something to them. >we threw it all away-when i am around anything at all that came >from the " moldy " house, I wish I could take a flame thrower to the two homes I can no longer enter. Yes, I suffer similarly. >If you are getting those reactions, throw them away-its not worth cross >contaminating!! I agree. Bad clothing can cost $10 to " correct " , when it happens. And $20 when you keep trying. Do add the cost of " testing " , and that is the straw that breaks the camel back for me. I go with the 3x3 rule. Three suspicions, then three tests. Then I know for sure. Sometimes, it's the 2 suspicions and 1 test rule. Not worth testing more, when the impact is " bad enough. " Losing 4-12 hours of the day, is bad enough for me. Guest guest
I had already thrown away everything from the other place (which wasn't moldy but I had cross contaminated it). So these are new clothes, after living in a hotel for months to detox! I'm on CSM and wonder if it's coming out of me and onto the clothes, then cross contaminating the washer and any other clothes (baby's, etc) we tried ammonia and i react to the clothes that were washed in that - totally different reaction though. Even brand new clothes washed in the washer are now a prob, but if I keep buying new washers and new clothes...ugh, you see what i'm saying! So I was hoping it was a reaction to the detergent (7th generation) or anything, anything else... Guest guest
7th Generation had changed it's formula sometime over a year ago or so. I'm really sorry, but I can't recall what the offending agents were now in the new formula's for me, but it was a problem and we stopped using it. We've had some luck with new clothes adding 20-40 drops of gse and a couple of tablespoons of a/c vinegar. Â So I was hoping it was a reaction to the detergent (7th generation) or anything, anything else...
Guest guest
I was wondering what " gse " stood for and what a/c vinegar was. Guest guest
I understood the original poster's words as follows. At 09:33 AM 5/28/2009, you wrote: >I was wondering what " gse " stood for www.nutribiotic.com GrapeFruit Seed extract (not Grape Seed Extract). I've used GSE in many ways for years. While their web site is prohibited by USA federal law from making claims, there are other web sites that fill this role. Though, their labels are now double labels, they fold open and lots of great info is to be found there. I've been expecting to hear the FDA going after them for this, but a careful reading of the label found very well worded sentences, making no " medical claims. " I've never used GSE on clothing. Good to know. >and what a/c vinegar was. Apple cider I would think. I've only heard of using distilled grain vinegar on clothing, as the apple cider leaves a smell. You could wash it again. Guest guest
le, I'm sorry. Was fairly tired when I wrote that. " gse " is grapefruit seed extract. a/c vinegar is not " air conditioning " vinegar, but apple cider vinegar, lol. Sorry, I know it must have looked strange to spell it that way. My bad. I was wondering what " gse " stood for and what a/c vinegar was. Thanks.
Guest guest
gse - grape seed extract a/c - apple cider vinegar Both are very good anti-fungals. > > I was wondering what " gse " stood for and what a/c vinegar was. Thanks. > >
Guest guest
Correct, my bad again. I meant distilled vinegar. Yikes. I've had more energy of late to try and add my two cents here and there.. and still am getting it wrong. My apologies. Certainly do not want to mislead even in the smallest way. I do know someone who is quite mold sensitive who says that she was able to tolerate clothes from her old mold-contaminated after washing in 60-80 drops of grapfruit seed extract about 2-3 times. I've tried it on some clothing with mixed results. But to be safe, better to get rid of them and start new. Sam >and what a/c vinegar was. Apple cider I would think. Guest guest
--- Sam, I have read alot here about GSE lately, do they know what is in the seed that makes it work as an anti-fungal? Guest guest
I'm sorry Diane. I really don't know. I tried to google that info and came up with some very contradictory information; where some sites tout GSE's incredible properties and then others like wikipedia give it a rather negative and interesting review. Not being a chemist, I can't say one way or the other. I first heard about GSE years ago as a means for helping to get rid of candida. I tried it for a bit, but it bothered my stomache. As for it's use in laundry, that was from a friend with mold exposure and mcs issues. Wish, I could tell you more. I'm sure that many on this list have a far more solid understanding of what properties GSE has pro or con.
