Is anyone having trouble with ? It seems I have to wait until any moving

ads stop before asking it to do anything, which is something I didn't have to do

before. If no one else is experiencing, perhaps my computer memory is overly

full but I don't notice it on other sites.

Hi Barb,

You might have a " malware " infestation in your computer, as I do. The easy way

to check this, is to " Google " anything. Then click on the link line in any

Google result. If you find yourself looking at a web page, advertising something

close to what you wanted, but not the exact website that you wanted, then your

requested click has been re-directed to a different website by " malware "

implanted by an advertising agency. Another way to check to see if you have this

type of malware in your computer, is to run a " security scan " on your computer,

like the ones from symantec or McAfee. If the scan finds, and CAN NOT eliminate

or quarantine the " Backdoor Trojan " malware that it finds, then you have no way

of getting rid of the malware. All of the companies offering software that

promises to do that job, are very suspicious. And I have not yet found a

well-known software company that offers any solution. The main problem is that

everything slows down, on my computer, and I have to TYPE every Google link line

into my address bar, since just clicking on the " link " will not get me to the

websites that I want to go to. If anyone has found any software that REALLY does

the job of eliminating this malware, please post it on this board. I would be

very appreciative of any help. Thanks, Joe

Joe, use Firefox as a browser rather than IE. Also install the free

version of Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm also has a whole Suite of protection

stuff, but you have to pay subscription fees every year. Might be

worth it though. One excellent way to get rid of malware is to do a

" Housecall " at www.trendmicro.com. It takes a long time, but finds

things that other programs don't.

Joe, I know how difficult this can be. I had a problem with trojan horses so

bad years ago, I had to change IP addresses after cleaning my computer. This

time, I am only having trouble with . Particularly mail. When

something won't come up, I just click out of where I was and start over but I

didn't used to do that. I think it corresponded to their change over to new

processing center.

,

Thanks for the tips. I'm curious about this too. Do you, or does anyone else

know if there is a way to asure that you are being directed to an ok web site?

Might be a dumb question, but isn't one of the problems with malware that it can

direct you to a similar looking website. Always makes me a little cautious when

going to download from some site or have a scan done. Many thanks and sorry KC

if this is too far off topic.

Yes, it is . I moderate a few and we had members complaining

of malware. I have from the get go said it was because they were working

on something if I remember correctly.
