Guest guest
I don't think I agree with your dr's .....I don't feel it's normal to be " boring and lazy " when you are on mood stabilizers. Perhaps they are giving you too high a dose. What pills are you taking if you don't 'mind me asking? I hope you stay in touch with us here. Take care. Guest guest
Hi again , When you say pissed off one minute, then happy, then tired, then wired.... does this all happen within minutes, hours, days??? Depending on how quickly you are changing from one mood to another....I think we all experience these moods at one time or other. It's just " normal " ....and damn ...there is that word again....lol Hugs, Sherry
Guest guest
, Although I've never been on any med's for bipolar I agree with Sherry . My son was diagnosed with bipolar. He was in the hospital and walking. When he got out he was in a wheel chair for the first time. I went to his house a few days after he was home and found my once chipper young man like a zombi. His speech was splured and he could hardly move. I told him to stop taking those med's, which he listened but his CMT was worse and he never was able to get any strength back from that. He's resorted to a wheel chair since and now has to have an electric on because he's unable to wheel himself. A couple years later a dr told him he does not have bipolar. A lot of dr's are prescription happy and will stop at nothing to get their share of benefits for getting people to buy them and continue needing them. Guest guest
Sherry: What does your psychologist or clinical social worker say? Your psychiatrist is supposed to work with either of them in determining your medication. A psychiatrist is not supposed to work alone. Just want the best for you. Marin Re: CMT and Bipolar Disorder Well, my psychiatrist wasn't happy with me today...lol But, then I expected that. I told him I didn't think I was bipolar...and that when I get in bad moods it's cause I'm not knowing how to deal with the pain and limitations of the CMT. He said it could be. He was upset with me cause I stopped my Tegretol. I told him I now feel better....my blood pressure has gone down (but he says Tegretol doesn't raise the blood pressure....which I did read several places online that it did) and also that I feel less agitated. (And agitation was one of the side effects of Tegretol too) And what really grabbed my attention was.....when he said to me that he was concerned that I was " too happy....too up " right now. I thought what the sam heck are you talking about???? I told him I feel the best mentally then I have in a long time. Perhaps he is hoping I become depressed and can prescribe more pills or hospitalize me again??? He said we'll see how you are in time. Also that if I have depression that losts longer then a week....to call him. (Like I wouldn't know to do that anyway!) Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr Ok...I'm done....lol Have a good rest of the evening everyone! Guest guest
Yep, you are so right .....there are so many drs. out there that are prescription happy. I guess when my dr. told me i was " too happy " he was disappointed that i had stopped my Tegretol and was hoping for me to crash so he can start pumping more pills in me. Oh well......
