Guest guest
Carl: The Hooper testing has its place. It is one of several diagnostic tests that a good physician will use in a differential diagnosis. The same with the testing of a home or buidling for the presence of molds and bacteria. As a toxicologist invovled in human health I use all of this information along with medical records to draw a professional opinion within a reasonable (legal standards) certainty. I then must defend my opinion based upon what is in the peer reviewed medical/scientific. If Public Policy and evidence based medicine were helpful, then why do we have the FEMA fiasco and formaldehyde? USCPAC, USEPA, OSHA, NIOSH, etc have all set so called public standards on formaldehyde, but yet people are becoming ill from exposure. They then go to their physician who scratches his/her behind and says " I do not know what is wrong with you Here, take this poison (microbial origin antibiotic or corticosteroids) and see if it will help you. Guest guest
You said it better than I did. If I may paraphrase: Testing by itself is not sufficient. It takes finding and fitting together all those pieces of information you listed (some of which may require a test of some sort) to solve the puzzle and (sometimes) convince the skeptics. Guest guest
Dr. Thrasher, you may know this but I had a conversation with a doctor here recently. He said when they used to dissect body's they were stored in formaldehyde until all the students began to get ill and or die so the " government " came up with some other chemical to store the bodies in but did nothing about, like you said, using formaldehyde in the things sold to the public, like the FEMA stuff, carpet, wood and so many other things. Anyhow, good post. Chris...
