Guest guest
Listmates, I have been brewing kombucha for about a month now and drinking it to try to improve my health. And I have seen some promising developments. The purpose of my post, however, is something I read while researching Kombucha. I saw two people post that, their kombucha SCOBY had gotten moldy (which they sometimes do). One said that his kept getting moldy and he couldn't keep it from getting moldy, no matter how hard he tried. He subsequently found out he had a leak in a wall, and it was full of mold. When that was rememdiated, no more moldy kombucha SCOBY's. Another reported that their's would get mold only around Christmas time every year. They thought it was from oranges they got at Christmas, and some of them would rot and get moldy. So, this got me to thinking. Could a simple kombucha SCOBY be a poorman's home test for mold? What do you think guys? Todd in Tenn.
