Has anyone used this fish oil? I am thinking about buying it. No matter how hard

I try to get my daughter to eat salmon, she just picks at it and I worry about

her not getting her omega-3.

, I remember you telling us how to test fish oil but I forgot how you said

to do it. Can you tell me?

Thanks,

Hi ,

Copied below is the information you requested.

This is a crude test for heavy metals in fish oil harvested from the flesh of

fish.  I'm not sure that it will ensure the safety of cod liver oil, since liver

oils can have other issues besides heavy metals. I would recommend doing

additional research on cod liver oil specifically to ensure its safe use.

Here you go:

" Dr. Sears, the doctor who wrote The Zone Diet, also recommends a home test to

see if there are heavy metals in the oil.  He suggests emptying several capsules

into a small container...like a lid or thimble...then freezing it for five

hours.  If a toothpick goes through it easily, then it doesn't have serious

levels of contamination.  In addition, he recommends using your nose to detect

if it's rancid or oxidized. "
