Guest guest
, I recently went to the MDA here in NJ and it was a horrible experience. I was told I was the worst case of CMT he ever saw yet I looked around seeing people in powered wheelchairs yet I am walking and working full time with no help. He asked the PT and OPT person to leave cause he said there was nothing he can do that I was as good as I will get. I found it extremely concerning that I am the worst case he has seen in 20 years yet I was unable to be a member of the MDA. I got new braces and was told to try again since they had to right denying me since I had paperwork showing my diagnosis. Hangar submitted the bill to them and they denied since I was unable to register. If the MDA won't even help me you can imagine how bad I get it from all the other so called doctors. Guest guest
Wow, I'm sorry Andy. Makes me feel bad for complaining. That's another example of things going on that aren't handled properly. And poor Geri. I'm just mean enough to tell them I'll haunt them when I die for real. LOL!
Guest guest
Andy: I would speek with the head department at MDA or human rights then and fight your way through. That is definitly some kind of discrimination. Marin
Guest guest
Andy, I'm very sorry to hear that, I live in NJ and southern NJ has no MDA. I travel to NY to see a neurologist at NYU. I work full time, but I how long can I can keep up ...? all the best to you! Monika

Guest guest
Andy, I can't believe that's what they told you! How terrible! Which clinic did you go to? I went to the one in Englewood Hospital for years and they were helpful. (But Lainie really taught me everything I know about braces!) I was diagnosed in 1992. I don't really remember that I actually " joined " MDA. Although that was 17 (!) yrs ago and I've " lost " a lot of info since then. I would definitely get in touch with the head of MDA in NJ and let them know what happened. JoAnn N.
