Guest guest
Mayleen, Can't answer the off-gassing question. But I have some friends with mcs, mold issues and they bought a new Airstream a few years ago. One of my friends was very, very ill at the time from exposures to mold, mcs and lyme and she did very well in the airstream. Those trailers are largely made of metal allowed this to be something that they could use with little trouble They did do something to treat things like the cushions and bedding I think. They also had a small air filter running all the time. . I will try and find out what they did to make the place safe. Maybe a used one or an older model might be more easily treatable. Sam Hi All, How old do you think a trailer (mobile 5th wheel) would have to be to be off-gassed if we were to find one?? Looking for options when possible. God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen
Guest guest
Thank you Sam, I know there is a company that remodels the airstreams for MCS'ers however I could not afford one. I thought maybe if I found an off-gassed one we could seal some stuff with safe-seal, remove all carpeting (if carpeted) things like that. I would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks again. Guest guest
Mayleen, I will try and find out what they did. I'm pretty sure that they did alot it themselves, very carefully. I think they also price shopped around and ended up having to travel to get the best deal on their unit. It is quite nice and I have never had a problem there. But I think as well that there are probably often some dealers or private dealers with older models that may have off-gassed that may be more affordable, maybe via crag's list. We thought of this as well, but even used ones were way too pricey for us. Maybe for used units the only thing you'd want to be sure of it to make sure it doesn't have any mold issues. If you find one that you like consider perhaps having a CIH check it out for you? Be well, Sam I know there is a company that remodels the airstreams for MCS'ers however I could not afford one.
