Guest guest
Diet and Exercise, Diet and Exercise, DIET AND EXERCISE, DIETANDEXERCISE,,,! How many times have these words been used in weight loss discussion. Well, they are wrong! The mantra should be Exercise and Diet. Exercise is more important than diet. After all if you expend a few more calories every day and eat the same number of calories, you will either lose weight or gain weight at a slower rate. But there is a way to lower your calorie input if you believe in Exercise and Diet. Eat immediately after your exercise regimen. As one eats, the serotonin level in the brain rises. The increased serotonin level signals that one has eaten enough. Here is a quote from http://www.anxietyzone.com /index.php?topic=4930.0;wap2 about serotonin and exercise: Serotonin levels rise nicely after moderate exercise. ... Daily exercise is required to elevate and maintain Serotonin production. The website http://www.teachersdomain.org/resource/hew06.sci.life.reg.eating/ offers this: People with anorexia and those recovering from it have elevated levels of serotonin, which acts to suppress appetite. Eating after exercise should result in eating less as your serotonin level is already elevated from the exercise. I started thinking about why, over 14 months living in Rome, I lost 11 kilos or about 25 pounds. I eat all I want of every type of food, but I just eat less. The only change in my routine over here is walking more and standing around waiting for buses and trams. Most of my exercise occurs before lunch -- the main meal over here -- and I just don't feel like eating very much. So exercise, and the diet part should take care if itself. At least I has for me.
