Guest guest
, Do you find it also helps with the foot drop part too? I have a relatively mild drop. I wear the Alimed Freedom soft foot drop brace which someone here on recommended, which I love...but this looks good too. thanks! SK
Guest guest
I use it for mild foot drop. Works like a charm. Its comfortable too. I actually bought mine at Walmart for $5.00 on clearance. I have a white one.
Guest guest
Francine - you may want to consider this type of brace. I've used something similiar and had much better results than custom orthotics, because the ankle brace gives the support with the weak ankles that I needed. May be worth a try, depending on your individual needs.
Guest guest
Do u think this will help me swim and kick? Kim
Guest guest
Kim, No. It won't help to swim and kick. The whole point of swimming, kicking, walking in water, etc. is to stregthen muscles. Everyone (all our PTs here) make people (some with CMT, others with MS, MD, etc) take off all bracing supports before entering the pool. Even while I wear shoes in the pool, I don't wear my in-shoe orthotics. Those are only for dry land. In the pool, I wear shoes to protect my feet and those alone give me all the support I need. Yes, I can kick, swim, walk, do a circuit, etc, because the water creates bouyoncy and resistance in itself which is good for resistance work and cardio. And yes I can swim with them - they are actually lighter than some fins I have tried. Have you tried any fins for swimming and kicking? Zoomers has some great short ones that work the feet and legs really well while swimming/kicking. Gretchen
