Also, one has to be careful about the source of Chinese Herbs as many are made

in China with inferior methods. They can be made from GMO crops, or have heavy

metals, pesticides, etc. Years ago long before the issues now surrounding

products from China in the US there were incidents of unscrupulous makers of

chinese medicine adding all sorts of things to Chinese meds like amphetamins and

even some who were sincere in their efforts making the herbs in caustic metal

containers causing heavy metal issues.

Some may be fine-- I do not know of any. But you need to be careful about it and

check thoroughly with a practitioner you trust.

I agree with Kris. I got very ill once using herbs. My doctor said it is very

possible they were moldy due to the way they are picked and dried. I do believe

though that many have great medicinal qualities. D

My husband and I have used dan shen (red root sage) for circulatory issues

(anything from atrial fibrillation to menstrual problems, DVT,

micro-circulation issues, etc) and lui wei huang (6 flavor tea pills) more

or less as a general tonic (our accupuncturist said it's great for

diabetes). We've bought them through her and through other sources such as

luckyvitamin.com - we're currently using Cardioshen since it has not only

dan shen but several other herbs that seem to be good to help with

circulatory issues. We both really prefer the " dripping pills " over herb

powders.

Can you tell me some of the symptoms I would notice if they

were moldy because I went ahead and went to her and drank some of the tea/soup?

Thanks
