Guest guest
Thanks, for the info. I never thought to do that. They are still sitting on the deck!! : For the meantime you can wrap the rubber in foil (just regular aluminum foil.) If you need one in an emergency the foil rips off quickly. Dr Rea teaches everyone to foil things that off-gas, its easy and works very well. D
Guest guest
Thanks, Jeff, I have to go to different places and do the sniff test before I buy the next one. I may even just try to return the ones I purchased. All they can say is no. Sue >> On its own, the smell will probably never go away; I have had similar experiences with rubber items, mostly made in China! You could try soaking them in bleach or 10% hydrogen peroxide, and then airing them out. But try to find some that do not smell. There are newer style plastic ones that have no odor. Guest guest
Thank you for the advise. I have not brought them into the house they are still on the deck. They will either be returned or throw out. I'll keep looking for some that don't smell. Thanks, again. Sue Sue > I have had horrible experiences with rubber. My suggestion is: keep it away from you, out of the house or somewhere you won't smell it and nowhere near anything absorbent or it too will smell like rubber. Rubber takes a very long time to outgas. Toilet plungers also come in hard black plastic. >
