Guest guest
Yes, take a teaspoon of 's Milk of Magnesia every night. You may have to experiment with the amount to see what works for you. 1 tsp. followed by 1/2 cup of water works for me(remember at least 1/2 hr. after taking last CSM dose) Make sure you take the CSM 4 times a day. Take it at least 1/2 hr. before eating & taking other meds. Easy thing to do is get a little plastic sippy cup that kids use (take the straw out) fill it with about 3/4 water, add the CSM and shake. I mix mine before going to bed sit it on my nightstand. When I wake in the AM I just shake it and drink followed by a cup of water. It's also a great way to take it with you when you go out. It's ready and no mixing needed. My schedule was 7AM, 11/11:30AM, 4/5 PM, last one about 8 or 9PM. Hope that helps! Sue >> I'm starting CSM for the first time soon and I tend toward constipation anyway. Can somebody give me some advice on what I can too to make sure I don't get backed up, so to speak, on CSM? Thanks!

Guest guest
You don't need to take medicine or wait overnight, get some buffered ascorbic acid powder/vit c but must be the ascorbic acid source and stir some in a little water. It will take just an hour or so. You need to experiment around with the dose to see what dose works for you. Side benefit is you get the vit c. My doctor told me to take this every day but told me to experiment with the dose to find the amount I can tolerate without getting diahrea, so to take it every day, actually more than once a day. So if you find the amount you can tolerate, all you need to do is increase slightly, and you won't have constipation. It works in a hour or two. I've had two different brands, one from Dr Marinkovich, Dr formerly of CA, and one recommended by local doctor here. Dr M said I could get it any brand, just be sure it is ascorbic acid form of vit c. They both fizz in water and are mildy sweet. Right now I have Vinco's Buffered vitamin C powder I got at Whole Foods store. It has other things in it helpful to the immune system. It was Rxed for my health but readily relieves constipation by adjusting dose slightly. --- In , Michal <michalvictoria@...> wrote: > > I'm starting CSM for the first time soon and I tend toward constipation anyway. Guest guest
Take magnesium-the dose really depends on how sensitive you are, how constipated you are. I started with 1600 mg in the morning and then 1600 again in the evening-this took a week to kick in-yes a week but now, 2 months later , I have tapered off to just 800 mg in the evening and i'm regular! It really works well so start with a low dose and build up from there. --- In , Michal <michalvictoria@...> wrote: > > I'm starting CSM for the first time soon and I tend toward constipation anyway. Guest guest
using beets is good too or some type of supplement that has beet powder in it. It will cleanse your liver and bowels. Walking, roughage, lots of water, psyllium, and if you can colonics or enemas. cathy > > Take magnesium-the dose really depends on how sensitive you are, how constipated you are. > I started with 1600 mg in the morning and then 1600 again in the evening-this took a week to kick in-yes a week but now, 2 months later , I have tapered off to just 800 mg in the evening and i'm regular! Guest guest
Magnesium works also. It is the active ingredient in Milk of Magnesium. Vit C and also magnesium are natural laxatives, plus you get the bonus that they are good for you.
