Guest guest
I'm sorry if someone has already asked this question (couldn't find the answer in previous posts), but I was wondering if pesticide residue on furniture like sofas could pose a problem after several years. My in-laws gave us two sofas and some tables from their home in Arizona about two years ago. They had their house sprayed for scorpions and said that the furniture had been moved away from the walls, then the baseboards were sprayed. My oldest daughter is highly sensitive to pesticides, but we were hoping that since it had been a few years (about 5 since the spraying), the furniture would be safe for her. We also found out last fall that our basement had mold issues from condensation on the insulation, so we had the mold removed safely and are now trying to decide what to do with the things that were stored down there- everything is now in plastic storage containers. All three of my daughters, but especially my oldest, have been having many health issues the past year and a half. I have been sick since living in a moldy house ten years ago and many of their health problems seem to be similar to mine. My oldest daughter does not seem to be any better since we had the basement cleaned (with a reputable company who used proper containment). Do I tear the house apart looking for " hidden mold " ? If there is any, it must be behind the walls since we have no carpeting, wallpaper, etc. Should I be concerned about the furniture from Arizona? Thank you for any insight you may have! Sometimes I think we should move to the back yard and live in a tent.
