We may not be able to see your dead arm the night it airs but look what I found.

Past episodes on youtube. Maybe one of our gifted computer people can put the episode up earlier and we can all watch.

Matt/Elaine,

Well, you’d only be able to see the show if you live in Australia. It is City Homicide; and I don’t know just what title for the episode.

But it gives the story of this homeless man, who gets murdered in the opening sequence.

For all I know it might be a few months before the episode is aired. But my guess is that we should look out for it between now and November.

Cheers, Ron.

Well, Folks, Sorry, but nothing on the topics being discussed here.

In my work as an Actor, and most of the time as an Extra in TV/Films, I’ve had some funny jobs in my time. Never forget the time that my face was done up red/purple and was superimposed on an enlarged image of the upright body of a Cockroach, busily engaged in burgling a house. All with antenna and a snarling ugly face, (or at least, more so than usual). That one was in an advertisement for Home insurance.

Well a week ago I had another gem. I had missed out on an Audition I went for to play a homeless man in the opening sequence of a Crime Series, and who gets murdered. Sad about that, it was a great little part. But anyway, the chap who actually beat me for the role apparently wasn’t available for a followup in the same episode. So I got called in to be the corpse on a table in the Morgue. Since the Detective had to bring a couple of grieving relatives in to identify the body, they just asked to see the right hand. This was because a scar on the back of the hand was all they needed to recognize Dad. Nothing else of me, except my form covered by the sheet was to be seen.

Well, they had to have my right hand ‘made up’ for the scene, even though it would be seen for probably about 7 seconds. So for some 50 minutes I lounged back in a chair in the make-up caravan, while a nice young lady put all sorts of colours on my hand. We enjoyed a very pleasant conversation at the same time. And when it was finished, my finger tips were blackened, and the rest down into the hand blended into the most alarming red, green, vermillion and whatever to represent the effects of Frostbite and whatever.

All went well. I held my breath for half a minute at the beginning of the scene while I was on camera. Then I could relax. Oh, they made sure that I was comfortable on the slab. I lay on an electric blanket, so it was quite good. The whole Call was for four hours, and I got a little cheque in the mail yesterday for a whole $65 odd Australian.

So there you are. You too could be a professional Actor! You’ll never know just what your next job will be.

Cheers, Ron.
