Elaine, You have every reason to be proud of Adam. It never ceases to amaze me what children are capable of doing when you have seen no evidence beforehand. So many details to remember and he pulled it off with ease.

WTG Adam!!

I just had to share with you all what my son and hero did today. I was sitting at my PC reading every-ones posts and trying hard to catch up. At 12.07pm my heart started palpitating, Adam knows i need to use my blood pressure machine which also takes a reading of my pulse when this happens. 15 minutes later he's helping me interact with the advisers on NHS Direct who sent the rapid response, all the time Adam is phoning his sister and dad telling them what is going on and at the same time gathering my stuff, his train magazines, packing my bag with bottled water , snacks and my bra!!! he was as cool as a cucumber and took everything in his stride. Then when the ambulance arrived to take over he gathered all our stuff remembered to check the back door was locked picked up my keys from the hook and locked the front door after us. I was given 2 shots(6+12mg) of Adenosine to stop/restart/regulate my heart rhythm with had been 198bpm for 90mins+, that had to be the worst moment of my life, i really thought 'this was it'. My husband arrived at the hospital and Adam was able to recall and retell him everything that went on. I am shocked to the core that Adam had behaved in this way. I couldn't even begin to tell you how proud of him i am and what a hero!!! Not only did he take control over what was happening he also took control over his dad, and he's only 13.

Adam is my hero too.......

This is something he needs to be proud of. Recognize him for it as well.

When I as little, I tried to do this things, but once the turmoil passed, I felt dizzy and shaky, sometimes it happened three days after the event.

He is much stronger than me at his age and he is indeed a big time hero! He will develop into an awesome responsible man, and one that will handle life well.......

I have to say that I love the fact that he did not forget his train magazines....... in my case I would have done the same, but it would have represented to me a security blanket.......

Like I said, he is a whole lot better than what I was at his age!

Hurray for Adam!

Hurray for you too Mom, just take care of yourself and keep it cool....... Drink Tea and relax.......

This is an awesome story. Adam should be very proud of himself for staying cool under pressure and taking the reigns. I guess you got a glimpse of what kind of man he will grow up to be, good job.

On a side note I want to say that I hope that you are feeling better and they were able to correct whatever caused your BP to sky rocket. Get some rest, sip some tea ( decaf of course) and feel better.

Elaine, this is a great story, and I think you should nominate Adam for the Woman’s Own Children Of Courage Awards?

Good on you both

Elaine said,"I don't have the best memory going so if you or anyone else has a better memory than me please give me a 'poke' and remind me to download an application form!"

Elaine, You may try also using a calendar program that will send you a email alert when the time comes. Yahoo has a calendar tab here in the email folder. If you go into "calendar tab" and then go to "options", then find "reminders" and you can set it for event reminders. these can come to you email, messenger or mobile here in the U.S. Then just put it as an event in your calendar. Hope this helps.
