I am an RN working with hospice and have run into a number of people lately who are on Lyrica. I've looked it up and , edema (fluid retention) is one of the side effects of the drug. Doesn't mean you are allergic to it, just that this happens when you take the drug. Can you get your feet up several times to help encourage the fluid back to where it belongs? There is a research study starting here in New Mexico and I've passed at least the first two screenings, so I hope I get to participate in the study. How do you all rate your pain? 1-10 scale? mild, moderate or severe? dbkd96 __________________________________________________

I usually am in mild pain during an everyday phase I say it is from 1-4, but on bad stressful days I go up to 7-10 for sure. I am now on Lyrica and it made my muscles relax so much I slept well and deeply with out the usual neck and back pain. I felt my pain and joint distress release it self. I take it 3 times a day. I have yet to see side effects from it,but am keeping a close eye on myself. deLadyBex
Guest guest
Well, I'm new, too and I'm new to Lyrica, too. This really has me concerned. My understanding about seizure medication is that once you start, you have to stay on protocol. I started Lyrica and hydrocodone and a steriod pack at the same time and wow! I'm so buzzed right now, I shouldn't be writing! lol Dana p.s. I'm 53, was diagnosed in late 80's. I believe my onset came the winter I was 9. I had spinal meningitis (1962). The treatment was to go to the dr. every day for a shot of pennicilin. The car accident occured en route to dr. I was in the back seat of an impala - the front seats didn't lock, hit the dash, etc. I believe these two incidents (coming simultaneously) were " IT " for me.
