Subject: Prickly legs?

Hi! Every one!I got my first pair of AFOs and custom orthotics about a month

ago.I finally have gotten use to them, but I am experiencing a new symptom now.My

legs feel like I'm being pricked, sometimes even a crawling sensation. At

night, they jump from this feeling like I'm being popped with a rubber band.Does

anyone else experience this,is it from the braces,or is this just natural

progression?

Also,if I may,ask another question.

I presently am working in retail, mostly stocking, which I am having to be really

careful.I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any programs set up for

people with dissablilities, for helping with more education to get into more

suitable carrers. And finding out what those may be.I am trying to figure that

out.I know alot of us work with computers.I am just having a hard time figuring

out just what I can and will be able to do in the near and far future. My CMT

affects my hands and my lower half.If ya'll have any suggestions or ideas,I

would live to hear them.

Angie

Here in San Diego we have Argentine ants that forage indoors during the warm

summer months.

I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're describing, but I'm finding it harder

to tell if I'm being bitten by ants, or just feeling random nerve tingles.

Most of the time it's random nerve tingles.

LOL, , I have to laugh at myself. Read your email and my first thought was

" prickly legs? yeah my kids are always telling me I need to shave. " Haha! It

also reminded me of a time a few months ago when I was refusing to react to what

felt like ants on my hands because I just knew I'd look down and there'd be

nothing there, just my nerves running funny little races. Finally, the crawly

feeling overpowered my intellect and I looked -- there was an ant on my hand.

Just goes to show, sometimes even when you're paranoid it doesn't mean they're

not out to get ya!

Geri,

No,they don't sweat,unless I'm working and walking around all day. I don't wear

socks with them. I have Walk Ons,so they arent inclusive enough to need a

barrier. Just where the strap is,and that doesnt bother me.I spoke to my mom

about it, she also has CMT.She said that feeling was the neerve endings dying. Is

that true?

Oh my Geri you wrote about leg sweating!

I have started having a strange thing happen - sweaty knees. I have never

had this before!

I am so excited to see someone post about sweaty legs! LOL!

Donna,

When I wear my AFOs my socks get dripping wet. I don't know if it's my socks or

what my AFOs are made of. I then have red legs and small blisters. I also get

that from Latex.
